You may have heard the phrase "sharpen our equity lens”. The purpose of an equity lens is to help us interrupt the impact of a number of societal and systemic influences on the lived experiences and perspectives of the diverse communities in which we live, work and serve. We have been trained and taught to look at the world one way and an equity lens requires that we expand that way. An equity lens offers us a set of questions and tools that help us make decisions that focus on equity in both process and outcomes.

In this highly interactive session, we will both consume and create art. Music, visual art, poetry, film and dance will all be explored as a way to experience the arts in an expanded way by utilizing tools that help us see what is ours to learn, unlearn and do.

Presenter: Dr. Folami Prescott-Adams, Ph.D.
