Afternoon at the Movies with ReelAbilities -The Employment Edition

At this event, we'll be screening three shorts:

• Bear: Jude, a neurodivergent creative, tries her best to fit into a typical world. While desperately in need of a job, an already tense interview is made even worse by the fact that no one wants to mention the bear in the room.
• The Commute: A wheelchair user tries to get home using public transportation and finds himself on an arduous journey.  
• Borderline Coffee: A young woman overtaken by anxiety battles through her inner thoughts when she sets out to accomplish what would seem to be a simple task: a cup of coffee.  

Network member and ReelAbilities’ Director of Engagement, Lawrence Carter-Long, will lead a group discussion after the screening where we will explore the intersection of storytelling and disability, and the way these narratives can inform and elevate our work. Join us to watch, engage, reflect, and connect the dots between film and the future we’re all shaping. This event is free for everyone, so please share widely!
