Supporting DC Youth with Disabilities in Preparing for Creative Careers Webinar

This webinar will focus on a range of approaches to employment preparation for DC youth with disabilities in creative careers, including internships, mentorship with professional artists, and career development opportunities in video and music production. Presenters will highlight SchoolTalk’s Music Production & Career Development Program, a VSA program provided under a contract with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Through this program youth receive career coaching from hip hop artist and songwriter Konshens the MC and career development support from SchoolTalk’s staff. Attendees will learn about the Great Job! Creative Conflict Resolution for the Workplace toolkit, which is designed to provide instruction to a wide range of youth with and without disabilities across school- and community-based settings.

Guest speakers include hip hop artist, songwriter, and educator Konshens the MC and Elijah Lee, a self-advocate and full-time employee at SchoolTalk DC that supports youth in producing videos.
