Description:
This webinar addresses the need to introduce mediums that are less intimidating to students with sensory processing disorders, while still offering the same versatility and stimulation of more traditional mediums such as paint or clay. Many students with intellectual disabilities also have sensory issues and do not like the feel of wet or sticky mediums. Sometimes just knowing they could come in contact with paint or glue can be a difficult obstacle to overcome in the classroom. Attendees of this webinar will learn everything they need to know about fiber art as it pertains to creating felted wool artworks using needle and wet-felting techniques, tools, and how to create a lesson plan that relates to art history or a cross-curriculum project that results in a collaborative wall hanging.
