Honoring learners’ multifaceted identities can help music teachers create inclusive and responsive educational spaces. In this session, music education specialists will help participants--including special education professionals and music specialists-- recognize how intersectionality affects learners’ participation and lived experiences in music classes. Attendees will create actionable strategies to improve inclusive and responsive practices to better serve students with support needs in music settings.
