From Checklist to Culture Shift: Crafting an Anti-Ableism Training Participants will engage in discussion and planning for creating an anti-ableism training for institutions, shifting from access as add-on to true inclusion and belonging. Ableism, as defined by TL Lewis, is “A system of assigning value to people’s bodies and minds based on societally constructed ideas of normalcy, productivity, desirability, intelligence, excellence and fitness…You do not have to be disabled to experience ableism. Presenters: Sarah Hom, Director of Audience Services, Roundabout Theatre Company and Miranda Hoffner, Associate Director of Accessibility, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Free for members, $10 for non-members. Register for this meeting here. Closed captioning and ASL interpretation are both available for all webinars. For the most accessible viewing experience, we recommend watching the webinar on a desktop computer or laptop screen.
