Mentor Office Hour: Freelancing as a Disabled Practitioner

February 23, 2024 from 4:00-5:00 p.m. ET

It can be tough to begin or further a career in the arts—and even tougher if you have a disability. That’s why we created the Access/VSA Mentorship Program, to give Network members direct access to professional visual and performing artists with disabilities who can offer advice, make connections, and act as role models. Our mentors answer questions and help guide art careers during regular online gatherings.

Mario Gómez (he/him/él) is a Non-Profit Leader, Consultant, Multi-Hyphenated Theater Practitioner, and Educator currently based in Southern New England. With a 15-year career spanning the intersections of Technology, Community Engagement, and the Arts, Mario has supported organizations, projects, and individuals succeed in an equitable and accessible way.

This office hours theme: What are some practices, systems, tools, and advice if we want to work as a freelance artist or practitioner?
